SALAMANDER DESIGNS ADDS A MEDIA CABINET TO ITS SYNERGY SYSTEM FURNITURE COLLECTION

HARTFORD, CT - Salamander Designs has unveiled a Media Cabinet for its Synergy System, an award-winning furniture series designed especially to house today's audio/video entertainment components. Synergy System permits people to configure furniture arrangements perfect for their current needs then reshape them with additional elements whenever necessary. Its unique modular design formula is covered by United States patent #421.685

Synergy is an elegantly simple design of extruded aluminum posts which support beautifully finished hardwood shelves. The post's linear geometry mixes with the open architecture to create a rich palette of materials and textures.

Synergy System is grounded in a group of core modules with strong, easy-to-assemble frameworks combining sturdy shelves with sculptural, extruded aluminum corner support posts. Each post is grooved to accept slide-and-lock

The new Media Cabinet, which is designed to complement Synergy System's related modular elements, is ideal for DVD's, CD's and zip discs as well as for video and audio cassettes. It's 12 inches deep and it stands 42 inches tall, a height matching that of the S-40, one of three core modules that form the heart of the flagship Salamander Designs furniture series.

The Media Cabinet includes side panels that accept easy-to-use shelf-support pins. By varying pin placement, purchasers can choose optimum heights for the unit's aluminum shelves and position them at 0-, 12- or 25-degree angles for easy viewing of titles.

Five aluminum shelves, each with an integral backstop, are included for 250-CD capacity, and purchasers can add a sixth shelf that accommodates an additional 50 CD's. They can also conceal the Media Cabinet's contents by adding a Synergy System door. One door style features wood framing around a frosted glass panel while the other has a wood frame around a panel of perforated steel

The new Media Cabinet is available in the same heavily veneered hardwood finishes that enhance related Synergy System modules: maple, cherry and walnut. It also comes in satin black. Purchasers have a choice of two pillar finishes, matte black and satin aluminum.

PThe Synergy Systems Media Cabinet, including side panels and five shelves, is designed to retail for $599 in any of its three veneered hardwood finishes and $499 in black. A door costs $119, and a sixth shelf costs $49.
